How does Run to Canada work?

Run to Canada tracks your real-world runs using GPS and maps them to virtual journeys across any route you choose. Every kilometer you run moves you along your selected route, unlocking milestone cities with photos and fun facts along the way.

Do I need to keep the app open while running?

Yes, the app needs to be active to track your run using GPS. You can minimize it, but do not close it completely during your run.

What's the difference between Free and Premium?

Free: Track up to 100km of virtual journeys with occasional ads
Premium: Unlimited distance tracking, no ads, and priority support

Can I create multiple goals?

Currently, you can have one active goal at a time. You can save multiple goals and switch between them, but only one will track your progress actively.

How accurate is the GPS tracking?

GPS accuracy depends on your device, signal strength, and environmental factors. We recommend running in open areas with clear sky visibility for best results.

Can I use Run to Canada on a treadmill?

No, Run to Canada requires GPS tracking to measure distance, which does not work indoors on a treadmill.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Does the app work offline?

You need an internet connection for initial setup and to load maps/routes. However, once a route is loaded, basic GPS tracking can work offline. Route calculations and milestone unlocking require internet.

Can I sync my data across devices?

Yes! Your data automatically syncs across all devices where you're signed in with the same account.

How do I cancel my premium subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play Store:
iOS: Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → Run to Canada → Cancel
Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Run to Canada → Cancel

Technical Issues

GPS not working or inaccurate

  1. Ensure location permissions are enabled for the app
  2. Make sure you're running outdoors with clear sky visibility
  3. Restart the app and try again
  4. Check if other GPS apps work on your device

App crashes or freezes

  1. Update to the latest version of the app
  2. Restart your device
  3. Clear the app cache (Settings → Apps → Run to Canada → Clear Cache)
  4. Reinstall the app (your data is saved in the cloud)

Can't sign in

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Verify your email and password are correct
  3. Try "Forgot Password" to reset
  4. If using Google Sign-In, ensure Google services are working
